We’re launching a petition to address the promises made by government to work with SUDEP Action and families to tackle SUDEP and epilepsy risk to prevent future deaths.
In July, SUDEP Action met with Government Minister Sharon Hodgson, Parliamentary Under Secretary for the Department of Health & Social Care and Olly Glover MP. The Minister agreed to work with SUDEP Action with a view to modernising SUDEP and seizure safety training and information and risk communication.
The Minister asked officials to set up a proposed ministerial round table meeting with SUDEP Action and supporting MPs to find practical solutions to problems. However, with the introduction of a new Prime Minister and Health Secretary, a round table which was due to go ahead on 20th October was cancelled with no new date offered.
