There are many ways to get involved in our work

Help us raise awareness
Many people support our campaigns or volunteer for us because their lives have been touched in one way or another by personal loss. They want to use their experiences to help stop more deaths and to prevent other families from having to go through the terrible things that they have had to endure.
We are always looking for people to help us raise awareness by campaigning and volunteering. We want to spread the word about who we are and what we do – and we want more people to understand epilepsy risks so they can stay safe.

Fundraise for us
We do not receive any state funding so everything we do is thanks to our wonderful supporters and fundraisers. You can raise money through solo initiatives or organised events. Many supporters hold events to celebrate the life of someone special.

Attend our events
Our events are a great way of bringing people together, to share stories and experiences. Many of our events – such as our National Conference – focus on the bereaved and those who attend tell us they gain much comfort and support from knowing they are not alone. They matter to us because people matter to us.
Did you know?
All of our trustees are volunteers
They meet at least four times a year but most are active throughout the year. It’s our policy that at least 50% of our trustees have personal experience of epilepsy bereavement.
Policy group of experienced volunteers
We have a policy group of experienced volunteers who are able to lead across multiple networks – this includes influencing policy at a national and local level.
Many people give up their time to sit on research panels
The bereaved and those living with epilepsy are directly involved in the research we do to prevent deaths and better understanding epilepsy bereavement.
