“People make all of the difference, it’s very caring here”
Paul Marcham, Finance Manager retires after 8 years at SUDEP Action
This week we say goodbye to one of our SUDEP Action colleagues; Finance Manager, Paul Marcham who has given 8 years of service to supporting the cause of epilepsy death prevention.
Paul is now retiring after a career spanning 57 years, consisting of 30 years’ worth of dedicated service within non-profits including St John’s Ambulance, DEBRA, the Housing Association and the Convent of St Mary to name but a few. He was also recently awarded a Certificate of Recognition from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales marking 50 years in finance.
He will be greatly missed on the team and has served the charity well including through the challenging period of COVID which saw many financial difficulties for charities at the time.
Paul said that SUDEP Action has been his favourite place to work and the reason for that is undoubtedly the people; “People make all of the difference, it’s very caring here”.
Tracy Cowdry; Deputy CEO at SUDEP Action said “Paul will be a much-missed member of the team. Not only for the skill in his work, but for his warm humour and tuneful whistling in the office in the morning. He is always modest about his own work, but he has been hugely valued by everyone at the charity and we all wish him a wonderful retirement.”
When asked what he would do once he had closed his laptop at SUDEP Action for the last time, Paul said, with a glint in his eye; “I’ll spend the summer in Tuscany.”
