Postponement of SUDEP Action’s Memorial Service
on Saturday 16th May 2020
We are sorry to inform you that SUDEP Action are postponing the Memorial Service which was due to be held on Saturday 16th May 2020. It isn't a decision that we have taken lightly, especially as we know how much the Memorial Service means to you all and indeed to us. We deeply apologise for any inconvenience and upset this may cause.
These are uncertain times and unfortunately beyond our control. The health and wellbeing of our supporters is of paramount importance to us. Hence, we have heeded the latest public health advice and after lengthy and careful consideration. We believe that postponing is the most responsible course of action for the charity to take in the current circumstances to protect our supporters. We also feel keenly the responsibility to do what we can to alleviate further pressure on our health care systems where possible, so that people most in need can receive the care they so crucially need.
We will be reviewing and taking advice on the situation over the coming weeks and months. As soon as the advice changes and we can make new arrangements to hold the service, we will let you know.
In light of this very disappointing news, the team are working hard to plan ways for Online Epilepsy Memorial Day on Wednesday 6th May to be more inclusive and accessible than ever, both for our supporters who use social media and those who don’t. We know this can’t replace the solidarity of being together with others, but we want you to know that SUDEP Action will do all we can to be here, and with you during these difficult and challenging times.
More information will follow soon about how to get involved.
