“Every time I run, I talk to my daughter more than ever.”
Raquel will be running the London Marathon 2026 in memory of her daughter Caroline.
Raquel Manfron lost her daughter Caroline Moreno to epilepsy over a year ago and is now taking part in the London Marathon 2026 in April in her memory.
This will be Raquel’s biggest challenge yet having done smaller runs of 10km to date. She notes that training is going well despite the difficult weather. She said “If you can do it, do it. The feeling is amazing.”
Raquel finds that running is a way to feel close to her daughter. She said: “Every time I run, I talk to my daughter more than ever. We always pushed each other to go to the gym and go running, and that is why I don’t want to stop. I feel her very close to me. She will always be my sunshine.’
She adds: “This opportunity truly means a lot to me. I will always do my best to support and help SUDEP Action.”
Raquel and her family all got matching tattoos following the loss of Caroline which say “ALWAYS WITH YOU”
Caroline’s sister; Claudia Moreno said: “Caro was a fighter. We will honour her legacy and carry her strength with us. Together, we can bring comfort, awareness, and hope — and make this world a kinder place for everyone facing epilepsy and the impact of SUDEP.”
“ALWAYS WITH YOU 💜”
