SUDEP Action - Always by your side
During this time of COVID-19, income to charities like SUDEP Action has reduced significantly and as epilepsy is not included on the COVID-19 list, we will not be able to access any government pledges for charity support.
While we are taking every precaution to ensure our support remains in place and available for all those who need us and that our work to save lives continues undisrupted, we also know that we cannot continue to do this without you.
The SUDEP Action Team have been doing all they can to help the charity through these uncertain times - so we can make sure we remain always by your side. With staff volunteering 25% of their salary this month in order to be able to continue to help those living with or bereaved by epilepsy, and some of the team volunteering to be furloughed.
The team created a short video about the changes we’re facing, which we shared on our social media platforms this week. If you missed it, you can see it here, and we’d love to hear your thoughts after watching it. Thank you to those who have been in touch already
"Thank you so much for everything you do……you have always been there for me"
There are so many ways you can get involved and support SUDEP Action at this time, despite the restrictions the current lockdown places on us.
We are so grateful to all those who have already made a contribution or have taken part in activities to show your support by:
- Making a single or regular donation direct to SUDEP Action: https://sudep.charitycheckout.co.uk/donate#!/
- Taking part in the 2.6 challenge to save the UK's charities on 26th April: https://twopointsixchallenge.justgiving.com/get-involved?charityId=183089
- Creating a Facebook Fundraiser via the SUDEP Action Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pg/SUDEPAction.org/fundraisers
For those of you looking to support us in other ways, there are many opportunities coming up over the coming weeks where you support is invaluable.
By joining our voices together, we can make sure even more hear us and learn about the importance of doing all we can to prevent epilepsy deaths and be there quickly to support those who are suddenly bereaved.
If you can help us raise vital awareness, please leave your details below, and we'll be in touch when we can. You can also sign up to receive our enews, join our supporter database or contact us here: https://sudep.org/contact-us
Please remember that SUDEP Action are here with you throughout, and we are continuing to work to reduce risk and to understand the full impact of COVID-19 on those living with epilepsy and those who are bereaved.
Thank you for your continued support, it really does help us make sure every epilepsy death counts.
