What will happen at our virtual Zoom Coffee Club meeting?
Before lockdown, we held face to face coffee club meetings regularly around the country for people bereaved by epilepsy. The virtual meetings we are planning will be different: the technology makes them more accessible, but the way we communicate changes.
Meeting others can help to break the isolation of bereavement. Our virtual meetings will be informal with a host to facilitate them. They can be a way to share stories, gain support and discuss what has helped get through this most difficult experience. Whatever the reason for meeting up, the aim will be for you to know that you are not alone, that others have been there too.
This may be the first time you have talked to others who have had a similar experience. Others may have been to our face to face meetings or talked to others bereaved before.
We need to let you know that as we share experiences and ideas, the tone of the meeting may vary. It may be light-hearted, as well as thoughtful or profound. There may be laughter. Everyone will have a different outlook. There is no single way to grieve, or to talk about the experience.
This unpredictability may be difficult, especially if it is your first time meeting, or talking to others, or if you are newly bereaved. Please contact our support team on 01235 772852 or email: [email protected] if you would like to talk about this or have any questions.
Our meeting will be hosted by experienced staff members and will last for one hour.
