December 2018

A place to thank, appreciate and celebrate our fundraisers.

A very big thank you to our December fundraisers.

Laura Faulkner and family took to the chilly street to raise funds in memory of Marc Faulkner. Laura informed us: “On 27th November 2008, my husband Kris lost his elder brother, Marc, aged 35 to SUDEP. In commemoration of his 10th anniversary, we decided as a family to collect money on the streets of Aberdeen for SUDEP Action. Four of us including my mother-in-law went out in force to raise awareness of SUDEP, and Kris spoke to people about his experiences of living with Epilepsy. People gave generously and even shared their stories with us surrounding their own experiences of loss. From the bottom of our hearts as a family, we thank them for their kindness and donations.”

Bethany Stapleton and her friends at the Kent Ballroom and Latin Dance Society held a society fundraiser. Bethany commented: “The Kent Ballroom and Latin Dance Society, at the University of Kent, have been busy preparing for our annual charity event Strictly Kent Dancing, this year in aid of SUDEP Action. The event focuses on teaching individuals who have never danced a step in their lives, to learn a ballroom dance in 3 weeks. The event was a huge success with ticket sales and raffle tickets contributing to a fantastic fundraiser.”
