Sharon’s deserved Saturday Night Takeaway!

Emily Cole nominated her mum Sharon Cole for Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway – from which Sharon won a 7-night holiday, all down to her phenomenal fundraising for SUDEP Action.

Emily said: "Last year I nominated my mum to be entered into the ITV Saturday Night Takeaway competition because I wanted her to see how special she is and how much I admire everything she does. I didn't hear back so thought she didn't get through to the next round, but then I had a phone call to see if I could get her to attend the show.

"After lots of back & forth, my dad went with her and we managed to convince her I got tickets through a competition I entered. On the night, Ant & Dec told the audience that they were all there because they were fundraisers, who had raised over £40 million for charity - so as a thank you they all won a 7-night holiday.”

The audience was made-up of fundraisers and foster carers, including Sharon.

Sharon lost her daughter Ellis, Emily’s sister, in 2013, at the age of 22. In her memory, Sharon has managed to raise £31,321.50 for SUDEP Action over her many years of support.

Emily added: "Although this will never bring Ellis back, this is such a proud moment. I am beaming with pride.”

After the huge surprise of the nomination and win, Sharon got in touch to tell us: “SUDEP Action is so close to our hearts, and I don’t know what I would have done without the support from Tracy Cowdry in the early days.”
