Charity news update from SUDEP Action CEO - December 2020
As Christmas nears, please join us between 2-8 December for National Grief Awareness Week. At SUDEP Action we witness love, courage and resilience every day of the year from those who live with grief. There are so many moments of inspiration. Moments when someone in our community, is able to see that tomorrow is a new day and gets through that day, as well as those moments when together, we overcome challenges and make real headway with saving lives.
The theme this year is #shareyourstory. We hope by sharing our support posts this week, a Remembrance Service at St Paul’s, and the stories of Emily R, Fidan, and Bella, that walking the journey of grief is made a little easier when you know you’re not walking it alone.
We invite you to join SUDEP Action to Light Up the Sky with love and with memories, as a way of remembering those we have lost and supporting others together. Taking part is easy and donations to this campaign are optional. Simply follow the link to visit the page, and leave your dedication.
Looking ahead to Christmas time, SUDEP Action will be decorating a Christmas tree in our office, with stars you can personalise with the name of a loved one and a special message.
To add your dedication star to the SUDEP Action 2020 Christmas tree, please email or phone us and we can create a dedication star for you.
Throughout December, with the support of almost the entire epilepsy community, SUDEP Action is spreading the word about our `Lives Cut Short’ report and we are making headway. If you want to get involved please contact Vicky by emailing [email protected] or calling 01235 772850.
In January 2021 we will be re-launching our Prevent21 Challenge and we will be posting details about this soon.
Please know we are here for you in the build-up to Christmas if you need us, don’t go through it on your own. You can reach us on 01235 772852 or email us at [email protected].
We are here to help in any way we can.
Stay well and keep in touch.
